Surgery
Ponchatoula Animal Hospital performs a variety of soft tissue surgeries including spays, neuters, the biopsy or excision of abnormal growths, removal of foreign materials causing obstruction in the digestive tract, and removal of bladder and urethral obstructions to name but a few. We also offer a few orthopedic surgeries on a case by case basis.
At Ponchatoula Animal Hospital, we understand that anesthesia is scary. It’s very common for people to be concerned, especially when their older pet needs a procedure. Therefore, with all surgeries and dental procedures, we recommend pre-anesthetic blood work to further assess your pet’s health.
Since every pet is unique, our veterinarians conduct an evaluation prior to surgery and create an anesthetic protocol best suited to your pet. Our doctors will take into consideration your pet’s species, breed, age, and health in order to ensure better anesthesia with fewer problems or complications. We also monitor vital signs of each patient throughout all stages of surgery and recovery.
